Australian Green Development Forum
The Australian Green Development Forum (AGDF) is a
balanced, non-profit coalition of members dedicated to accelerating the adoption of
sustainable practices in the building and development industries. Members are drawn from
the development industry, public authorities, educational institutions, and community
groups, which is consistent with its whole of society approach to addressing
the imperative of sustainable development.
The AGDF promotes sustainable urban
communities across Australia, and works in partnership with a wide range of
organisations and associations to achieve this goal.
Partnerships - Endorsed by industry, environmental bodies, and
community sectors that also have an interest in fostering sustainable development, the
AGDF will provide a recognised and respected forum to connect innovators whose goal is to
forge links between:
- sustainable development practices and technologies
- appropriate institutional frameworks
- adoption and implementation by business, and
demand from consumers in the marketplace.
The Business Case - Effective sustainable development will be
promoted by the AGDF as development that offers market-competitive products to consumers,
as well as a return on investment to the building and development industries.

environmental and resource management and corporate social responsibility will be promoted

This important Brisbane City Council
initiative recognises the value of good design and the need to raise the bar
on the quality of design and development in the local environment. The primary driving
force for the Centre is to stimulate design solutions that strengthen, rather than weaken,
South East Queensland subtropical identity. Through its work the Centre intends to:
inspire design suited to the subtropical climate, landscapes and lifestyle; develop and
demonstrate comfortable and affordable subtropical design for our neighbourhoods, homes
